How much money is this poker table going to cost me?
Expect to pay around $400 - $500. Compare this to the $1,200 - $2,500
you would pay for a quality table already constructed, the savings are
obvious. Don’t tell me about the poker table you can buy at your warehouse
store for $89.95! Those tables are a disgrace!

Knowing that everyone is not Norm Abram, expect to spend between 8
to 16 man hours. Due to the attention of detail and drying times, the
soonest you can expect to finish the table will be in two weekends. The
time spent to choose your materials and colors is up to you.

Will I need a lot of tools to make this poker table?
No. Click on “The Book” and go to Step Two – The Tools for a
complete list of tools needed for our project. Remember, if you don’t
own a particular tool; borrow one from a relative, friend or neighbor.
Or if you’ve always wanted to own a certain tool, this would be a good
excuse to purchase it.

Why is this the World’s Best Poker Table?
A lot of time was spent finding the best materials for this poker
table. I have found the best felt, best vinyl and best foams to be used
for our poker table. I have also come up with, in my opinion, the
world’s best plans to construct this table. They are easy to follow and
easy to perform.

I can get “Build your own poker table” plans for free off the
Internet. Why should I pay $9.95 for your plans?
True, you can obtain free plans off the Internet. I’ve seen them, read
them and studied them. In short, you need to be a NASA engineer to
figure them out! Those plans make the project more difficult than it
needs to be. Plus, they are very difficult to follow. They assume you
know a lot about certain construction phases.
My book will hold your hand each step of the way. I designed this table
so it would be easy to construct for the novice woodworker. Also, if you
have any questions during the construction of your table, I am always an
e-mail away for some guidance.

How much will this poker table weigh once it is completed?
A lot! Around 125 pounds! The proof is in the pudding. This is a
sturdy table!

I’ve seen poker tables with cup holders built into the table. It
appears that your design does not include cup holders. Why?
There are three reasons why I did not design cup holders into this
poker table. One, the engineering, designing and construction of such an
option would have been maddening! My design is simple to follow and
simple to construct. Second, having a permanent cup holder on the rail
of your table dictates where your guests must sit. Seating arrangements
can get awkward having a cup holder near you. Which leads to my third
reason in that not everyone has a beverage while they play poker. If you
don’t have a beverage, the permanent cup holder seems to be in the way
as you’re playing. It does for me anyway.
A solution I came up with is to offer your drinking guests a slide under
stainless steel drink holder. They simply slide the flat piece of
stainless steel under the rail. They can place it anywhere that makes
them comfortable. The book explains this in more detail along with
places to purchase this accessory.

Will poker chips bounce like they do at the tables I see on TV or at
the casinos?
Yes, if your poker chips are clay or some other composite. Don’t
expect much bounce if you are playing with plastic chips. If you still
own and play with plastic chips, you will want to upgrade to clay once
your new table is complete. The chip company that manufactures poker
chips for a lot of the major casinos in the world is mentioned in the
book.
